Dog House Designs

Dog houses are now not just a matter of shelter for dogs. Today, equal importance, if not more, is given to beautifully designed dog houses which add an extra charm and beauty to the landscape of the owner’s house. Hence, new attractive designs emerge regularly, reflecting our evolving choices. T.J Designs, Ash Custom Wood, All Dog Houses, Pet Street Mall, La Petite Maison, Lilliput Play Homes, Petsmart, Petmate, Post Modern Pets, Improvements, Solid Cedar Dog Houses, and Orvis are some companies which provide amazing variety of designs among dog houses.

Dog houses are available in different materialwood, plastic, fenced wires, and much more. The design of the dog house differs accordingly too, keeping in tune with the material used in building the dog house. Among woods, cedar, Asian fir, and pine are possibly the most used in building. Fancy, playful designs such as mansion, bungalow, houses with porches, houses with roof porches, and cabin log house are made up of the aforementioned woods.

Barn-shaped and A-shaped dog houses are possibly the most common designs adopted by novice dog house creators and companies. But the flat-roofed dog house, which provides a generous view of the surroundings, is quite popular too. T.J Designs, Petmate, and Pet Street Mall deal with barn-shaped designed dog houses.

Besides wooden houses, several unique-designed dog house are available in the market too. Precision also provides log houses with slight slanting roofs, a change to the routine flat roofs. Igloo-shaped dog houses are much convenient to clean and maintain too. Improvements and Petmate among others make such homes too.

Completely portable dog houses are those provided by Petmate. It resembles a human tent and is made up of ‘heavy-duty polyester’ and has ‘nylon zipper’. Usually can be set up within minutes, it is a very convenient mobile dog house.

Dog houses completely customized to suit and match owners houses are created and provided by La Petite Maison. Dog houses are either made on the site or made first and then shipped to the desired location according to the size of the dog house.

Promotional Vehicles

It is difficult to miss a Hummer, but how many companies could afford to run one to promote their business? The answer is, of course, very few and it is doubtful whether GM’s overgrown offspring would be the most suitable promotional vehicle for many of them. What then are the alternatives and how could businesses benefit from using a vehicle as an advertising medium?

What is a promotional vehicle?

A promotional vehicle is a car, truck or SUV with purpose-designed adhesive vinyl graphics applied to its exterior, promoting a business or one of its products or services.

The graphics may be a full wrap (the whole vehicle is covered), a decal wrap (decals are applied to body panels) or a window wrap (decals are applied to the side and rear windows).

The types of business that operate promotional vehicles include radio stations, beer companies, car dealers and up-market pubs, clubs and restaurants to name but a few.

The benefits of a promotional vehicle

A vehicle is mobile so you can take your advertising places. Both drivers and pedestrians will notice your advertising when your vehicle is parked as well as when it is on the move.

Your advertising stays in position until you remove it or sell the vehicle. There is no need to book media space or pay regular subscriptions.

The cost is not as much as you might expect. In fact, vehicle graphics cost less to create and apply than many other types of advertising. If you apply graphics to an existing vehicle then there are no additional costs.

You can potentially make a big impression. Cleverly designed and eye-catching vehicle graphics can be used for PR purposes.

Is a promotional vehicle for me?

It depends on your business, as promotional vehicles are not suitable for every company.

Brand image is a key deciding factor. You need to consider how the vehicle will be used (will it be on the move much of the time or parked), what will it be used for and who will drive it and how will it be driven. Do not forget that the vehicle will influence people’s perceptions of your company and your product/service.

Budgetary considerations will play a part too, more so if you are purchasing a new vehicle specifically for use as a promotional vehicle.

Which are the best promotional vehicles?

For sheer size and physical presence, nothing beats the Hummer, H2 and other large SUV’s.

At the opposite end of the scale is the 2.5-metre long Mercedes Smart car - one of the most popular promotional vehicles in Europe. This goes on sale in Canada in the fall of 2004 and is sure to have great novelty value and attract a lot of attention.

In between these extremes, you have vehicles such as the PT Cruiser and the forthcoming Chevrolet SSR. Molson promoted their A Marca Bavaria beer at last year’s Vancouver Indy using a Honda Element. Other possibilities include the VW Beetle or an unusual, classic or sports car.

The MINI might seem an obvious choice but bear in mind that the model already includes a range of graphic treatments in its option list and this may reduce its usefulness as a promotional vehicle because your advertising will stand out less.

Whatever vehicle you choose it should attract attention in its own right and the less common it is the better.

If you are buying a new vehicle, your choice will be determined by your promotional requirements and your budget. A cheaper solution is to use an existing company vehicle. However, consider the impression you want to make on your target audience and avoid the temptation to apply a wrap to your rusting, dented 1992 Safari.

What about the vehicle graphics?

The first step is to commission a design for your vehicle. Your design is printed in full colour on weather-resistant high-quality adhesive vinyl. This is then applied to the vehicle.

A complete vehicle wrap will take 8 hours or more; a decal or window wrap will take less time. The vinyl is durable and washable. It can be removed when the time comes to update the design (for example if you change your logo) or when you sell the vehicle.

So, if you are looking for an alternative way to promote your business and you want to take your message onto the street or to events then you should consider a promotional vehicle. It may not be suitable for every company but if it is right for you then it is a great way to get people to notice and talk about your business.

Affordable Health Insurance

More than 44 million Americans don’t have Health Insurance. One major reason is that they can’t afford expensive Health Insurance premiums. However, many of them may be eligible for affordable options they are not aware of.

In general, individual Health Insurance is more expensive than group Health Insurance. If you are employed, this may be the best place to start looking for cheaper options. Consult your employer and any labor or employees’ associations you are a member of to find out if any group insurance schemes are available. Always check if you are adequately covered by such insurance- health costs are the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the United States, and you don’t want to be caught off guard with inadequate coverage. And know your rights for continued Health Insurance if you leave a job that provides such insurance- you may be eligible for continued coverage for up to 18 months.

You may be 65 years of age or older, a disabled individual younger than 65, or suffering from end-stage kidney disease. If so, you are probably eligible for Medicare, a Health Insurance program administered by the US government. For people who can’t afford all or some part of their medical expenses, Medicaid, another government-sponsored program, may help. Eligibility for Medicaid varies from state to state, but generally covers pregnant women, children and teenagers, and people who are aged, blind or disabled. If you are a woman, you, and your children if you have any, may be eligible for a number of free or discounted government-sponsored health services. If you don’t qualify for Health Insurance due to a pre-existing condition, check if you are a resident of one of 30 states that provide Health Insurance cover for a “High Risk Pool” of people like yourself. Many private insurance companies have cheaper Health Insurance plans for members of the military.

Affordable Insurance provides detailed information about affordable insurance, affordable car insurance, affordable dental insurance, affordable health insurance and more. Affordable Insurance is the sister site of Colorado Health Insurance Company.

Unsecured Loans: The Lesser Known Sibling Of Secured Loans

What is man’s greatest invention?

Some of the latest gizmos would immediately crop up in our minds as the most probable of the answers. But do these gizmos really deserve the veneration that they receive. True, they have revolutionized lives. But they have been characterized with impermanence. Another new invention and the earlier invention is nowhere to be seen.

One invention of man which has withstood the challenges of time is a home. The earlier users of home might have constructed it just for shelter purposes. But it has assumed new roles in a person’s life. Besides providing shelter, it has become an indispensable status symbol. Home has continued adopting new fashions and styles, and thus still holds the same esteemed position that it held in the primitive ages.

People revere their houses, and would think twice before taking any step which imperils its existence. Since secured loans entail keeping home as collateral, most people who value their houses would dread taking the loan. A single default may lead to ones house being repossessed. And with this all dreams which the customer and his/ her spouse may have dreamt with their home as a scenic backdrop fades forever.

This single fact has led a large number of people, including those who do not have the luxury of homes, to look for different options, in spite of secured loans offering a much better rate of interest.

“All that is gold does not glitter; not all those that wander are lost”. So said J.R.R.Tolkien, an English novelist and scholar. Going by the logic it would be unprofessional to not cater to the vast population who do not want to keep their homes to any kind of obligation, or who do not have a home in the first place, on the grounds that they can cause default in payments.

To fill up this vacuum and to cater to this vast population which was till yet unsatisfied or was debarred from the credit process at the very initial stages because of the absence of home, the concept of unsecured loans was launched.

So what is an unsecured loan? An Unsecured loan is a loan for those who do not take a secured loan. The lender provides the loan without having to keep any collateral.
The loan provider in this case has more risk to bear. He doesn’t have the cushion of home or property to meet the contingencies like constant default. So he would counter it through a higher rate of interest. But customers who desire to keep their homes safe will bear the high interest rate without flinching. The interest rates may be slightly higher than what is charged for secured loans. One doesn’t have to rely on the high street lenders who charge a very high rate. There are many reputable lenders who may offer the most desired terms.

Unsecured loans are very fast in being approved. The lender doesn’t need to value the worth of the customers’ property, which is the most time consuming process. The result is fast cash for the customers to benefit from.

Since there is no collateral involved in the process, lenders would dread offering loans to those who have a bad credit history. The denial extends even to those who have received County Court Judgements or Individual Voluntary Agreements. But there are lenders who will happily take the risk; of course charging a higher rate of interest for their services.

Taking out an unsecured loan doesn’t give one a license to default. The lender can take actions to make good his defaults. While in the case of secured loans the lender would have immediately covered the defaults through liquidation of the collateral; in unsecured loans they would have to take the help of the court, which ultimately results in repossession of the home.

Such court proceedings can result into the customer’s name being entered on the defaulters list with the credit agencies for around 6 years. And in these 6 years a person won’t be able to get loans as lenders perceive the customer as precarious or bound to default. This would certainly be a very complicated scenario since a person does need loan to meet contingencies.

To skip such a scenario one would have to be very cautious right from the time when one plans the loan. The following checklist would be of immense help:

Decide what amount you really require.
Select the lender.
Decide the amount to be repaid monthly.
Make an optimum balance between the ultimate cost of the loan and the monthly repayments.
Make an optimum balance between the amount of monthly repayments and their number.
Be regular in repayments.

With these points in place one can really enjoy the most out of the unsecured loan and rest assured as to the safety of his home.

Proper Preventive Maintenance Starts With Knowing Your Restaurant Equipment

Several weeks ago, I was forced to replace a very expensive piece of equipment at my bistro. A convection oven that I inherited with the building suddenly stopped working. I called a repair service and the machinery medics were quickly dispatched. Unfortunately, the news was grim… I would need to purchase a replacement unit. The technicians that came out were unable to repair it. In fact, they had no idea why the unit had failed, only that they wouldn’t be able to fix it. I contacted my restaurant equipment supplier, who, it turns out, had sold the now defunct unit to the previous owner. When I told him about the old unit and that I would need a replacement, I expected him to be ecstatic, knowing full well that my wallet was about to take a major hit. Instead, he surprised me by asking me a series of questions about the old unit.

With his help over the phone, we were able to get the unit up and running in about twenty minutes. That’s pretty amazing, I think. The problem was caused by a lack preventive maintenance measures to the oven. We were under the impression that we were taking proper care of it, though in truth, I never bothered to check and see if there was more that we needed to be doing in the way of preventive maintenance.
A few days later, I got a letter from my equipment supplier, with specs on every piece of equipment in my restaurant, along with the necessary preventive maintenance measures that I should take with each one. The majority of these I already knew about, but there were a few I was unaware of. Since I received the letter, my staff has been performing all the recommended preventative maintenance measures and we really notice a difference on the pieces of equipment we were neglecting to take proper care of.

Preventive maintenance is important in the restaurant business, especially with the cost of replacing an expensive unit. The only way to take proper care of your equipment, however, is to know it well enough to know what preventive maintenance measures needs to be performed. I am grateful to my equipment supplier for helping me to realize that.

Toys And Accessories, Toys And Add-ons, When Do You Stop Buying

After buying toys for my kids I am sometimes overwhelmed by how short a time it takes before the latest toy that they always wanted is discarded. Left for dead under the bed or tossed into the wardrobe to be forgotten about. Or sometimes, and these are the times I like, the imagination takes over and the toy is transformed into something else or combined with other toys.

I have spent countless dollars on little Barbie dresses and now Barbie is wrapped up in a handkerchief with a shoelace for a belt. I don’t know where this idea for the latest fashion came from, but then again children see things differently from us.

This same philosophy of children losing interest is possible behind why the toy makers are always adding to the existing models.

Barbie has been going for many years and she is always being upgraded with different accessories. The latest Barbie is a rather elegant model that came out as the Chinese New Year Barbie with an elegant price to match.

One toy set I like and my kid keeps collecting is the Littlest Pet Shop. This has been around since the 80’s so now the older stuff would be collector’s items. There are untold pieces and many different accessories. This little playset is reasonable priced and buying up the little pets won’t break the bank. Every time another add-on hits the market there are usually only two new pets in the box, but on the picture on the box you see pictures of many lovely little pets.

This is an excellent marketing strategy and should guarantee future sales. But us parents are at the receiving end.

Looking around the toyshops many different toy sets do the same thing. I suppose it keeps the children interested and looking forward to something new.

MEGA BLOKS has many different add-ons for each new series. For example the Pyrates series has two main boatsDread Eye’s Phantom and Captain Cutlass’s Stormstalker. The other main bases for the series are the Pyrates Cove and the Smuggler’s Fort with the Pyrates Treasure Pack and Pyrates Skull Cave and any number of figurines as add-ons. So if your little boy falls in love with the Pyrates there would seem to be a never ending supply of toys to choose from.

A slight variation on this theme is the classic game, Monopoly, which now has countless versions all based on the original game. These are not really add-ons they just make the game more appealing to a wider audience. Instead of just the property game, now you can get dinosaur, cat, car and sports monopoly along with scenery and fishing and many more.

If you are a dinosaur fan then Dinosaur Monopoly, to find out if you end up extinct or not, is the game for you.

Kids love new things, especially popular toys they can show off to their friends. But we parents have to fork out our hard earned cash. I must admit in most cases I do it willingly because I like to see my kid happy. Now I’m starting to check myself and before I buy I like to think my money is going to good use. So if I buy one in a series and the kid does not play with it I do not buy anymore, despite the tantrums.

When we parents are up against modern advertising and exquisite packaging designs we have no chance. So the best weapon we have is to say “NO” and mean it.

Credit Scoring For Beginners

When it comes right down to it, we are just a number. There used to be a time when people applying for a loan would be judged by the Three C’s; namely, Credit, Collateral, and Character. Yes, there was a time that you could get a loan just because the banker liked you.

Times have changed. With the age of technology, everything has become impersonal, including the lending business. The Three C’s have been reduced to one: Credit Score. Your best chances of obtaining a loan, then, depend on your understanding of this vaunted number.

Your credit report is a report card of how well you manage your debts. Like your grades in school, the higher your score, the better your chances of success.

Scores range from 300 to 800, with most credit reports scoring in the range of 480 to 760. There are three major credit reporting agencies. They are Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Each of these three credit bureaus has its own proprietary formula for calculating your credit score.

Similar to being judged at a figure skating competition, each bureau has its own interpretation of your “performance” as a borrower. Factors that go into calculating a credit score include your payment history, the quantity of your open accounts, the ratio between your credit limits and outstanding balances, and lender inquiries to name a few.

How does your score work in terms of getting a mortgage? Different mortgage companies have different ways of interpreting your score. Commonly, for example, you’ll find lenders referring to the “middle score.” Upon looking at your credit reports, you might find, hypothetically, that Experian gave you a score of 630, TransUnion 610, and Equifax 634.

In this case, your “middle score” is 630, and would be the basis on which your creditworthiness is judged. In essence, the high and low scores would be “thrown out” and disregarded. Note that not all lenders work this way. Some will take only your lowest score, some will take only your highest, and some might consider a combination or average of the three.

The important thing to remember is that your score is only a number, a common denominator to which everyone can relate. Just like the weather, everyone can relate in terms of the degree of temperature. However, the interpretation is relative. For example, 80 degrees might be considered hot to one person, and it might seem cold to another. Similarly, a score of 630 might be considered “good credit” by some lenders and “bad credit by others.

With all these different interpretations and variables, one thing is for absolute certain. Having the highest credit score possible is your very best bet. The ramifications of having a high credit score are enormous. With a high score, you can qualify for lower interest rates, lower down payment requirements, and faster loan processing times among other numerous benefits. In other words, it can NEVER work against you to have the highest possible credit score. With it, you can achieve savings of time and money that translates into thousands of dollars per year, every year.

Frank Bruno has spent the last 3 years assisting hundreds of clients in saving thousands of dollars in Interest rates by teaching them unique techniques on how to quickly and dramatically raise their credit scores. For more information please visit his website-

Special Effect Contacts - Be the Center of Attention at Cost

Theatrical contact lenses are favorites for costume parties. And for a good reason - nothing can make your costume seem more real than a pare of bright inhuman eyes. However, with so many special effect contacts available it is important to know how to select good ones.

All special effect contacts are soft contact lenses. This means that, with proper care and cleaning, you will hardly notice there is anything in your eyes. Most people can wear costume contact lenses without any problems.

What types of special effect contact lenses are on offer?

Theatrical lenses come in hundreds of exciting designs. You can get cat’s eye contacts, red or black spirals, wolf eyes, bloodshot eyes, vampire, white-out, black-out or even an American flag design. The most popular and trustworthy brands of special effect contact lenses are Crazy Lenses from Cooper Vision and Wild Eyes from Ciba Vision.

See photos of people wearing costume special effect contact lenses

As all color contact lenses, costume lenses can be produced digitally (printed by a computer) or hand-painted. As you would expect, the price of hand-painted contacts is much higher than mass produced, digital ones - usually upwards from $150. Hand-painted lenses are the most beautiful, and every detail is very clear.

However, don’t assume that mass produced lenses are no good. They make an excellent addition to your costume for a Halloween party, or just for a fun night out at a club. On the other hand, if you plan to shoot a home movie, where your face will be seen large and clear, a pair of more expensive, hand-painted theatrical lenses would be better.

You can also order custom special effect lenses - an artist will paint any design you like. Naturally, though, custom theatrical lenses are the most expensive.

What effect would you like - just to change the color portion of your eye to something exotic, or to cover the whites of your eyes as well and make them look completely inhuman?

Most theatrical contact lenses only cover your iris, this way you can get an effect of cat eyes, wolf eyes, red-hot eyes or spirals. But there’s another type of costume contact called scleral lenses. As the name suggests, this lens covers your entire sclera (the visible portion of your eye, including the white). Scleral lenses are more flexible in design, because they are not restricted by the circular shape of the lens and whites around. The effects that you have seen in Predator or Dune are achieved with scleral lenses.

However, scleral costume lenses are harder to manufacture, so they are always more expensive than the circular ones - but the effect is well worth it.

Can I wear costume contacts if I need vision correction?

The most popular brands, like Wild Eyes and Crazy lenses, come with or without visual correction. Crazy lenses also come in the most common size - diameter 14.2 and base curve 8.6. This means that they would suit the majority of people.

Most other costume contacts can be only be ordered in plano. However some companies, allow you to specify your prescription, especially when the lenses are custom made.

Make your costume really stand out with a pair of scary theatrical lenses. You will have great fun and be the center of everybody’s attention.

Woman-to-Woman, a Skin Care Guide

Woman-to-Woman, a Skin Care Guide

Due to the cycles in a woman’s lifespan, her skin is different
than a man’s skin. Specifically, women have thinner skin than
men which makes exposure to the sun critically more important to
a woman. Always use skin care products that have sunscreen at
least SPF8 level. The skin on the arms, back, and legs should be
protected whenever the skin is exposed to the sun. Typically,
the critical hours are 10am until 4pm, however, the closer to
the Equator, the more critical the SPF level and exposure time.

It is said that women are said to age more quickly than men and
the sun exposure issue is a major factor. The sun’s penetrating
UVA rays on under protected skin allow the sun’s penetrating UVA
rays to more quickly and deeply damage a woman’s thinner skin.
As a result of western women’s dress, melanoma develops on
different body areas than men. Because fashion dictates, women
often wear skirts, the most common site for serious skin issues
is the lower legs. In men, melanoma is most commonly found on
the back. To protect yourself from skin cancer, remember to
cover all exposed skin at all times.

A woman’s skin also tends to change color and texture with age;
while sun exposure is responsible for many of these changes,
others are caused by the dynamic hormonal variations that occur
around and during menopause. The hormone estrogen is responsible
for maintaining the bony framework beneath the skin and helps
keep the skin soft and resilient and works to keep a vibrant,
healthy facial complexion. The issue of hormone replacement
therapy is front and center in the news today. The use of
all-natural progesterone creams provides many or all of the
benefits hormone replacement therapy does, however, with natural
products and without many of the side effects. More information
about natural progesterone replacement can be found at
www.realprogesterone.com.

A woman’s skin is the largest organ of the body. It functions as
a barrier to prevent the intrusion of toxic substance, provides
a first line of defense against bacterial, viral, and fungal
organisms, acts as a thermostat in regulating body temperature
and acts as a sensor for stimuli through touch. Great looking
skin begins early in childhood but requires careful attention
throughout life to guarantee beautiful, healthy skin as an
adult. IH Distribution provides a complete, all-natural skin
care line including makeup and sun screen with products that are
developed in Switzerland for the spa industry and can be ordered
