Glasvegas to Release next Album in Spring

Glasvegas have revealed that new material could be with us by next Easter. Talking at this year’s Oya Festival in Norway, Glasvegas frontman James Allan confirmed that he loves to write new tracks and is itching to start recording the follow up to their debut self-titled release.

“You can expect to hear stuff probably around Easter time,” he told Xfm. “Easter time is when I think we should release the album.”

Frontman James Allan told NME.com that he is moving to Los Angeles and will build a home studio to record the follow-up to their self-titled debut. Recording is set to start in the winter, again with producer Rich Costey. Allan revealed a number of song titles, including ‘Sonic Silence’, ‘Whatever Hurts You Through The Night’ and ‘Born To Die’. He added that the next album would be more optimistic: “I left myself in a position of being stuck with a grey cloud hanging over me. I wanted to escape it - I like to think that a lot of my thoughts and optimism are going towards being liberated.”

The singer informed Xfm that the rest of the band haven’t even heard the new songs but “If people want it to be part of their lives, then they can have it.”

Florence And The Machine and the Arctic Monkeys also appeared at the Norwegian festival which took place in Oslo’s Medieval Park from August 11-15.
